New equipment tricks up Whyalla Recreation Centre
YMCA South Australia has completed a $130,000 state-of-the-art equipment refit of the Whyalla Recreation Centre gym.
The upgrade was undertaken to replace old Whyalla City Council owned strength equipment that had reached the end of its life-cycle, with the installation completed on Wednesday 6 October and the gym reopening the following day.
Whyalla Recreation Centre manager, Kimberley Nitschke, said that the upgrade was driven by the need to improve and maintain the Centre’s appeal to the local community and provide the best possible value for members and guests.
“A variety of pin-loaded machines have been purchased and installed, as well as some additional items to add to the equipment range. These were selected based on member feedback and industry trends based on the user-demographic of the Centre,” she said.
“Already feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and the new fitout has been extremely well received by both members and the community.”
Ms Nitschke added that the upgrade was part of the YMCA’s ongoing commitment to promoting better health and wellbeing across the Whyalla and northern Eyre community.
