Another Big Leap for Fleurieu
The recent launch of YMCA Leap Connections and YMCA Leap Discovery on the Fleurieu received a huge boost after a successful expo at the Fleurieu Aquatic Centre (FAC) on 3 December.
The event was organised by YMCA project development officer, Christopher Cox, to highlight the services available to support the disability community.
The two YMCA pilot programs, accessible through the NDIS, aim to promote and stimulate both social engagement and employment opportunities for young people living with a disability.
The event attracted significant local media interest, with the Victor Harbour Times coverage creating widespread publicity and interest.
Leap Connections is held at the FAC weekly on Wednesdays from 5-7pm and caters primarily for 12-18 year olds, while Leap Discovery, will run as an employment development program at the FAC and will be launched in line with the new school year in 2020.
For more information on the YMCA's Leap programs, contact the Leap team on 8298 7422 or visit the FAC.
