YMCA Modbury Special School OSHC provides After School Care and Vacation Care (school holiday care) for children with intellectual disabilities. We offer a wide range of supervised, fun-filled activities on site as well as excursions and incursions.

Service Philosophy
At Modbury OSHC, we pride ourselves on focusing on the abilities and possibilities of children and young people. We believe all children have the right to rest, play, culture and arts from the UN Convention of Rights, and act in their best interests. We consider diversity when planning programs to suit each child's interests and development. Communication plays a significant role in the service by utilising various methods to capture children's voices and seek family input whenever possible to achieve the best outcomes for children's health and physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being. These skills are used in the community and the world around us.

What to Expect at YMCA OSHC
As a community-based not-for-profit, the Y is recognised as a leading provider of OSHC services in South Australia, well known for:
We seek high quality, experienced and passionate Educators which actively contribute to the quality of OSHC programming and an enjoyable experience for students. Lead by the OSHC Director, Educators provide an environment that will challenge, stimulate and support each child on an individual level.
Bookings can be completed online, on the App or over the phone. In addition to utilising the latest technology to manage bookings, our friendly OSHC Support Team is available over the phone Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm.
YMCA OSHC has the right mix of physical activity, intellectual stimulation and rest keeping children wanting to come back. We also pride ourselves in delivering the best Vacation Care program in South Australia.
We source our food from within the local community using markets and other local food co-ops if available within the area. Healthy and nutritious breakfasts, snack and afternoon tea are always available for students.
Bookings & Accounts
YMCA OSHC uses the best available childcare software solution called Xplor, making day-to-day OSHC management and bookings simple and convenient. Download the Xplor Home App from Google Play or the App Store!
Using the Xplor Home App
Navigate to the 'Bookings' tab, select a day, start a new booking (top right), select the child and booking type, repeat the process for additional bookings, then checkout (click the pram in the top right corner).
*Only students enrolled into the service and an activated Xplor account can use the Xplor Home App for bookings. Email the OSHC Support Team if you need the Xplor activation email resent.

OSHC Support Team
If you are unable to book via the App, contact the OSHC Support Team by Email or call us on 08 8200 2516.
If your booking is confirmed, you will receive a booking confirmation through your app within 48 hours. If the service is unable to accommodate the booking you will receive a notification through the app that your booking has been rejected.
Service Enrolment
Before your child can be booked into, or attend, any OSHC or Vacation Care sessions they must be enrolled into the Modbury OSHC service.
Service enrollment is only needed once; there is no need to repeat a service enrolment for subsequent terms/years.
New enrolments are currently closed for October 2024 Vacation Care, however enrolments for Term 4 After School Care and December/January Vacation Care are open. Please contact oshc@ymcasa.org.au or 08 8200 2516 for an enrolment form.
Fees
YMCA South Australia in partnership with the School Council sets the daily fee on an annual basis.
Our fees are broken into two components: the session fee, and an Additional Support Fee.
If eligible, families can use their Childcare Subsidy (CCS) towards their OSHC session fees. The session fee is payable by families only and NDIS cannot be used.
The Additional Support Fee can be claimed under NDIS. If you have a Plan Manager, you can provide us with their details, and we will send your account directly to them. Please ensure that you have sufficient funds in your plan. When reviewing your plan, please refer to the funding for holiday programs to foster accessing the community, social and civic engagement.
Families can also choose not to use NDIS and pay for the Additional Support Fee themselves.

All fees are paid via direct debit. A direct debit authorisation must be completed prior to using the service. Direct debit is paid via a bank account or credit card. Paying by credit card incurs a 1.70% surcharge.
A $3.00 casual surcharge is applied for before/after school care bookings made with less than 48 hours of care being provided. A $3.00 casual surcharge is applied to Vacation Care bookings made after the date, listed in the Important Information on each program.
A $10 non-notification will be charged when a child fails to turn up at a meeting point and it is the responsibility of the staff to locate the child.
You can access your statements and live balance information at any time on the Xplor Home App.
Before/After School Care: Cancellations received up to 48 hours prior to care receive a full refund. Cancellation received with less than 48 hours are charged full fee.
Vacation Care: Cancellation received up to 2 weeks prior to the date of requested care to receive a full refund. Cancellations received within 2 weeks of the requested care date are charged full fee.
*No fees will be charged if a medical certificate is provided to oshc@ymcasa.org.au no later than 5 business days from the date of missed service.

Vacation Care
Our Vacation Care programs encourage children to be involved in a variety of fun and exciting activities, including art, craft, cooking, sport, dance, and drama. Children also go on excursions to exciting destinations. All bookings will be open once the program is released, which is on Monday week six of every term.
We will be closed from Monday 22 December to Friday 2 January inclusive. We will re-open on Monday 5 January 2026.
