THE ROLE

Thebarton Aquatic Centre, proudly owned by the Department for Education and managed by YMCA South Australia, is a hub for learning, community engagement, and recreation. With a strong commitment to educational outcomes, swimming lessons, and community sporting initiatives, we are seeking passionate individuals to join our team as a YMCA Swim Teacher in Charge.

YMCA Swim Teachers in Charge (TIC) are an essential component in the delivery of the YMCA Swimming Lessons Program. TICs are required to maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of YMCA aquatic programs, educational trends, and industry development.

YMCA Swim Teachers in Charge are committed to the philosophies of the YMCA swimming lessons program and the delivery of safe, effective, and professional lessons. They provide leadership, communication and supervision to the swimming lessons program. TIC’s have strong communication skills that will enable them to communicate effectively with parents, students and swim teachers for a positive customer experience.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Successful candidates will also have or be willing to obtain:

  • AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety or Swim Australia Teacher accreditation or equivalent.
  • HLTAID009 Perform CPR or equivalent.
  • RRHAN-EC Masterclass – Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education & Care.
