As an Infant and Toddler Swim Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping children’s lifestyles and inspiring their natural curiosity through engaging, playful interactions with their parents, peers, and teachers. You’ll teach in both our swimming lessons program and our Schools Swimming Lessons programs as we gear up for the warmer weather and busy season ahead.
THE ROLE
As a YMCA Infant and Toddler Swim Teacher, reporting to the Swim School Manager, you will:
- Embrace the YMCA philosophy in relation to aquatic programs and uphold high educational and teaching standards.
- Deliver safe, effective, and professional swimming lessons with enthusiasm, patience, and innovation.
- Implement engaging lesson plans that promote group teaching methods, focusing on both stroke development and water safety.
- Foster student interaction and collaboration through thoughtfully structured activities.
- Collaborate with your team to create a supportive and welcoming environment for all.
- Set a positive example for parents by effectively communicating, guiding, and establishing clear boundaries and expectations for children.
- Commit to continuous learning and professional development.
- Show respect and understanding for individuals of all talents, abilities, and backgrounds.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Successful candidates will also have, or be willing to obtain:
- AUSTSWIM or Swim Australia Teacher accreditation
- AUSTSWIM or Swim Australia Teacher of Infants and Toddlers accreditation
- HLTAID009 Provide CPR
- Certificate of completion for “Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care” (RRHAN-EC) Training
- Weekend Availability
