THE ROLE
YMCA South Australia is seeking an Education and Inclusion Leader to help support and manage the Northern region in education/curriculum and inclusion strategic support. The position offered is part-time 19 hours a week.
As our Education and Inclusion Leader, you will provide input and support to children's services for all behaviour, inclusion and access areas. You will be the primary support for Directors and teams in the educational practice and program. You will contribute in building YMCA South Australia's reputation as a leading provider of quality children's services.
As the Education and Inclusion Leader, some of your key responsibilities and duties are as follows:
- Collaborate with educators and provide curriculum direction and guidance.
- Support educators to effectively implement the cycle of planning to enhance programs and practices.
- Ensure that children’s learning and development are guided by the learning outcomes of the approved learning frameworks.
- Assist sites and teams during Assessment and Rating process.
- Support, guide and mentor teams in the use of Playground.
- Educate services to write their own Strategic Inclusion Plan, providing support and mentoring when required.
- Support teams with behaviour management strategies for sites, individual children, and staff teams.
- Visit services to help implement strategies identified and to offer support when required.
- Provide direction and leadership to staff regarding Inclusion Support and access, educational practice and care.
- Lead and share information, knowledge and expertise on practice, policy developments and community changes that may impact on the program.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Successful candidates will also have, or be willing to obtain:
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification in children’s services or equivalent
- (HLTAID009) Provide CPR
- (HLTAID012) Provide Emergency First Aid in an Education and Care Setting
- Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care (RRHAN-EC) Certificate
- Current Driver’s License
